Father & Rabbit

It has been quite a while since our last post and we wanted to update everyone!

Bob was in Michigan for two weeks because A family member became seriously ill with Pneumonia. I joined him for a week. Send up some prayers for a full and speedy recovery! She is really improving this week (keep up the good work!) We will be going home (to Michigan) to visit again soon.

Bob has transitioned to doing his mineral business full time, its starting to take off and hopefully will become a steady source of income in the future. (If you are interested you can check it out HERE.)

We decided to take our savings for Guatemala and use them to pay down debt more quickly and when we are debt free (excluding the federal student loans) we will be able to save much more quickly. Here is an update of our progress:

In May we had $1,647 / $10,034 paid off!

In June we had $5,185 / $10,034 paid off!

After a bit of number crunching we found out that our initial estimate was off. After doing a bit more research we had to re-set our goals to have $10,000 saved total.

We are officially leaving the week of November 6th.

Heather started a second job at a cookie shop this week to bring in a little more cash. Not a bad second job we think!

We were very excited that we had our first recurring donor sign up this month!

You know who you are... and THANK YOU so much for helping us reach Guatemala!

We have received multiple one-time donations as well, THANK YOU all!!!

We are making great progress and are more excited than ever and can't wait to make this transition.

We got a message this week from one of the current acting house-parents living in Huehue...

Many of the kids know we are moving. One of our best buddies, Luz, was asking about when were coming. Apparently Luz still uses the nicknames she gave us last year. Find out what they are in this video :D
