SO many things have happened this month.

I think I should start with the fact that I'm pregnant! I'm 7 weeks pregnant right now and super excited! We have our first baby doctor appointment the beginning of next month. Part of being pregnant means that I'm SUPER tired. I've spent all of my off-time sleeping (not writing blog posts, sorry guys.) I've been pretty nauseous every day and unable to eat lots of foods, they totally are grossing me out. Besides that, so far so good.

I went to San Pedro Soloma with our oldest son Antonio to get his birth certificate created so that he could attend school. While I was visiting I was blessed to meet his family and stay with them a few days. We learned a lot and had our eyes opened to many needs. We began a campaign (You can see it HERE) and tried to fund raise on our own for about a month. We raised about $400 and planned to cover the rest out of our savings.

Things changed when our friend Sophia offered to help us fund raise by creating a video. In one day we had raised $5,000! This amount is far beyond what we thought we could raise! We were TOTALLY blown away by the community of people that love Antonio. He is truly a special person and everyone that has met him came together to remove his burden.

One of the best things about living here is that we SEE God move like never before. We can see his hand on our children and on their lives. He loves them so much more than we ever could and he can provide for them more abundantly than we ever could.

We serve an amazing and almighty God.

I am reminded of this even in light of the horrific tragedy that struck a children's home in Guatemala City this month. The home had serious problems and was a bad situation for the 700+ children that lived there. Thirteen of the girls and one boy were relocated to the Fundacion Salvacion where Bob and I work. We welcomed 11-year-old Milton into our family this week. He is fitting in well and is settling in faster than we expected. Milton is deaf and speaks Guatemalan Sign Language. It has been really helpful that I speak American Sign Language but we have a lot to learn to serve him well. We are all learning as a family. It has been incredible to watch the boys communicating and learning to communicate.

Until Next Month!
